Meet The Slug Riderz
Take a look at our team of sponsored skiers and boarders, reppin’ the SlugFam, all across the Globe!
We love supporting the local snow scene and getting behind the emerging legends of Winter Sports. Slug Skis is proud to sponsor shredders from the Parks of Hotham, to the lakes of Otago NZ, right across to the towering peaks of the USA and Canada!
Location: Wanaka NZ
“Chur, it’s ya boy Henas. I like skiing and nonsense, in that order. I can’t ski well, but boy can I ski janky. I like pushing my limits in my skiing pursuits, spreading some froth and having a good time doing it. Ski silly”
Location: Wherever he can Park his Van!
“Yo Slug Fam! I’m from the old school. I was a freeskier at Hotham in the early 2000’s, when it was a hotbed of snowboard talent. The seasons were deep, we had a halfpipe and skis were undergoing improvement every year! From there I moved on to NZ, Europe (when no’one had fat skis but us) Japan, Nth America etc.. I featured in many photo’s and articles in these things from the past called magazines on the worlds premier freeride destinations. I love freeride skiing. These days I stick to Hotham and a really cool place called Gulmarg, in the Himalayas, where I ski all day and chill with Monkeys by night!“
“I’m Jay Hall, a 17-year-old skier from Mt. Hotham / Falls Creek. You can find me ripping the park or shredding the pow in Japan, or, rarely see me carving the fresh groomers. Besides skiing, I
enjoy basketball, mountain biking, trampolining, filming/editing, hanging out with mates and
skateboarding. My ultimate goal is to be able to compete at the Olympics, Firstly I’m aiming to
compete in the junior worlds next year. This year I’m excited to start working with slug skis and
hopefully more, while I train and compete this year.”
Location: Jindabyne, NSW
“I’m 10 years old and I live near Jindabyne.I have been skiing since I was 3.I like to ski in the park and hit the rails and jumps with my friends. This year I’m skiing with the Thredbo Mountain Academy crew, we train 4 days a week and on Saturday mornings we go to the airbag. This year we have been lucky enough to have a 50ft jump built just for us.My favorite place to ski is Niseko because there is lots of powder. This season my goals are to misty on jumps and back swap on rails. In the summer I like to mountain bike at Thredbo and play basketball.”
Location: Queenstown, NZ
“Born in Australia, but I grew up all over the world (my parents were international school teachers). I love anything to do with mountains – mountain biking, climbing, and skiing of course. I’m currently working my third season with NZski, here in Queenstown, as a level 2 instructor, just trying to get better at skiing. I try to spend every spare moment playing in the park and backcountry. I have recently started on my pathway to get my IFMGA guide certificate“
Location: Banff, CA
“I’m a Canadian living half the year in Banff, Canada and the other half in Australia. I work full time as a snowboard instructor/trainer/coach doing back-to-back seasons, living in forever winter! I also love to compete in rail jams, banked slaloms and Freeride comps, always looking to push myself out of my comfort zone. When I’m not snowboarding, I enjoy adventuring outside, making pottery and hanging out with my animals on the farm. See you out on the slopes!”
